Trail Update – Wednesday, January 11th, 2017

This report was just posted on our Facebook page by our Grooming Coordinator, Kevin Lassonde.

“Just trying to keep everyone informed.
Due to some light rain and warm temperatures today, the Pittsburg Ridge Runners will not be grooming tonight.
You might ask why, as the temperatures will drop below freezing tonight.
Here’s the simple honest reason, as of now we have a hard, well frozen base that as of Monday night was groomed to perfection pretty much anywhere you could go.
If we go out tonight, we take the risk of breaking up that base with our tracks and cause more damage than good, and with continued warm temps and rain again tomorrow, what ever would be groomed tonight wouldn’t freeze up solidly so basically 1 step forward and two back. Bear with us and mother nature, cold weather is on its way for Friday night again and you all know we will be at it full force with 5 awesome Pisten Bully groomers making it perfect for Saturday morning.
Thanks for understanding”.
