Trail Report & Club News – Valentines Day 2019

Happy Valentines Day!

Kevin’s latest Trail Report – dated Wednesday, February 13th
We have received 5-8″ of new snow last night and today. (and it’s still snowing)
Groomers are running nightly and a few day shifts to help cover more ground due to the fact that we have had some fairly costly mechanical breakdowns. We are fortunate to have funding to keep these expensive repairs paid for.
By tomorrow our 4th groomer will be back out on the trail.

Overall trail conditions are good to excellent but understand that new snow is a double edge sword. It gives us something fresh to work with but also takes time to process it, shape it and also need cold temperatures to allow it to freeze to the existing base. Watch out for some ice in the corners.
Don’t forget to take a ride to the PRRSC warming hut at Deer Mt campground, this weekend all of the money raised for food sales will be donated to the Pittsburg Firefighters Association to assist with the funding to expand or replace wilderness rescue equipment. Members will be on hand with their state of the art wilderness rescue units to display equipment and answer any questions you may have about what they do out there in the case of an incident.”

Here are a few words of advice with the school vacation weeks about to begin.

Be tolerant
Stay right
We hope all enjoy their time in Pittsburg.
