Snowmobile Trail Report – 3/9/2018

“Good afternoon everybody!

Photo Fred Cunningham

Over the past 24 hours we’ve received 5 to 10 inches of new snow depending on which area in town and elevation.
With a little bit of scrambling around this morning we were able to fix two minor breakdowns on separate pieces of equipment to be sure that everything is up and running for this weekend.
We had three groomers out last night and another one out during the day today.
All four Bullys will be running tonight, Saturday night and Sunday night.

The new snow is a welcome change for all of us groomer operators included.
Now we have something fresh to work with that will hopefully over time improve the trail system for the next week or so.
The snow did have some moisture content to it which allows it to pack down and hopefully it will hold better than that light fluffy snow.
Please be aware that there still could be underlying ice in the corners that has not adhered to the newly fallen snow which could cause some turning issues.
Temperatures over the weekend look to be in the high twenties to mid-thirties which is not ideal temperatures for groomed snow to set up and hold but we will do our best to keep things as flat as possible for everyone to enjoy this weekend.
It’s going to be a great weekend to ride!
This will be the final weekend of the Warming Hut being open. Please stop in to see Bob & Sue and their Hut Helpers.
I would personally like to thank all the volunteers that make the Warming Hut happen each Saturday throughout the course of our busy winter season here in Pittsburg.

Ride safe, enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch for the Groomer!!!”

Respectfully submitted,
Kevin Lassonde Grooming Coordinator
